Steve and I were deeply saddened to hear of Don's passing. Our thoughts are with all of those who were close to him. He was a wonderful man, and I am proud to call him my step-grandfather. We will cherish the wonderful, but few, memories we have of him. May our memories of him give us all strength.
I credit Don with helping me to find my husband! He met both of my serious beaus. He disapproved of one and highly approved of the other. I considered his advice and have been happily married for 11 years now. He was always very supportive, and both he and Doreen were welcoming of me into their home when I was young, on my own, and in need of grandparently advice. I am crying as I write this, but Don was a wonderful person and will be very greatly missed. While he came into my life fairly late, it was the perfect time to impart his wisdom on me when I needed it most. I will always be greatful. I wish I could have known him better.
With Love and Sympathy,
Jessica Dawn Sherwood
